On the morning of April 17, 2025, in Hanoi, the Department of Administrative Management under the Ministry of Public Security held the launch event for the third season of the “Data for Life” Technology Solution Competition – Hack for Growth 2025.
Titled “Breakthrough Technology Solutions – Hack for Growth 2025,” this year’s competition is a renewed edition of the “Data for Life” initiative, jointly organized by the Ministry of Public Security and relevant agencies. The program seeks to identify and promote innovative technological solutions that serve the public good and foster societal development. Building upon the success of its two previous seasons, the 2025 edition has been expanded in both scale and quality, aligning with the national digital transformation agenda as outlined in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024, issued by the Politburo on the breakthrough development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.
Centered on the themes of “hack” (breakthrough) and “growth” (development), Hack for Growth 2025 is well aligned with the evolving landscape of digital government, digital economy, and digital society in Vietnam. The competition’s format and content have been revamped—not only preserving the legacy of “Data for Life,” but also broadening the scope for participation. It encourages engagement from organizations, enterprises, and individuals, creating an open platform for the submission of creative and disruptive ideas.
This year, the competition continues to strengthen connections with the research community, businesses, and international organizations, while promoting practical solutions for areas in need of innovation and reform. Hack for Growth 2025 serves as a premier science and technology platform, attracting diverse participants including students, researchers, experts, businesses, and investment funds from both Vietnam and abroad.
At its core, the competition aims to cultivate a robust culture of innovation—integrating intellectual capacity and technological advancements into real-life applications. Its ambition is to serve as a catalyst for nationwide development in the digital economy, government, and society. Key areas of focus include digital data utilization, artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and big data. The ultimate goal is to discover promising ideas and prototypes that can be developed into complete, impactful technological solutions in service of national digital transformation.

Colonel Vũ Văn Tấn, Director General of the Department of Administrative Management under the Ministry of Public Security, emphasized: “In this competition, a single individual can create a valuable product. These products are not limited to applications in Vietnam. For instance, the winning entry from last year’s Season 2 could be applied both in Vietnam and Singapore. Such solutions are fully capable of being exported internationally. The intelligence of the Vietnamese people—throughout every era—has consistently brought value to life.”
He further noted that data is a new form of resource, and innovation is the key to achieving prosperity and sustainability. With the momentum generated by Resolution No. 57 on the breakthrough development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, Data for Life – Season 3 is expected to gain new vitality, producing highly applicable solutions that make tangible contributions to society.
Data for Life – Season 3 is anticipated to attract dozens of competing teams from both Vietnam and abroad. The total prize pool for the competition is VND 690 million, with the first prize valued at VND 500 million.
Eligible participants include: Vietnamese citizens residing domestically or abroad, and foreign nationals with an interest and passion for technology—regardless of age. Teams with diverse compositions are encouraged, including students, engineers, experts, startups, and groups of individuals.
